To reliably land on the sand while keeping a blue suit, normalized movement is required.

To keep a blue suit, do a full height jump, and land one tile past the edge of the ledge (not touching the sandfall), wait for Samus to trip when landing, then hold forward to walk on the sand with a blue suit.

From the first pillar, simply walk off the edge of the ledge to reliably land on the sand without losing a blue suit. From the second pillar, do a full height jump and land on the sand (while avoiding the sandfall), and hold forward after Samus trips on the sand.
